About the Author
Deanne Spears is originally from Portland, Oregon. She now considers herself a native Californian, having moved to Los Angeles when freeways and smog were relatively new concepts. During her childhood and adolescence, she spent carefree summers i na small farming community in northwest Iowa. After receiving a B.A. and an M.A. in comparative literature from the University of Southern California, she began teaching composition and reading at City College of San Francisco. She continues to tutor students in reading and composition and to conduct teacher-preparation workshops for the college. In addition to her primary interests - reading and studying Italian - she and her husband David enjoy cooking, watching movies (there are over 100 titles in their Netflix queue), kayaking in Princeton Harbor, camping (especially in the Gold Lakes Basin area of Northern California), and searching out inexpensive ethnic restaurants. Deanne is the author of Improving Reading Skills (7th edition, 2013) and, with David Spears, In Tandem: College Reading and Writing (2007), also published by McGraw-Hill.

Vamparody of dorkness

Anyone who enjoyed the tale of teenager Nigel Mullett, wimpiest and least scary vampire in history (or at least, in Stockfield) in Tim Collins' "Notes from a Totally Lame Vampire: Because the Undead Have Feelings Too!", will undoubtedly welcome the appearance of this sequel, "Prince of Dorkness: More Notes from a Totally Lame Vampire". Unlike many a sequel, this one is actually better than its predecessor, with funnier episodes and wittier writing, whilst having an absolute whale of a time poking fun a The Twilight Saga. Nigel's tale seems to give every impression of having run its course with this second book but fans of the genre need not despair, as more of the same is now available in in Tim Collins' latest effort, "Adventures of a Wimpy Werewolf: Hairy But Not Scary". Oh well...

Awesome book

This book is hilarious and really cool! Nigel is struggling with the decision of turning Chloe into another vampire. But when she becomes obsessed they decide to call it quits. They are brought together again when something truly surprising happens. I love this book and I'm sure any one who loves Tim Collins will too.

If you love squeaky clean regency romance

If you love squeaky clean regency romance, then this is the book for you! I always like a little more passion between the H and H, not to the point of being sexually explicit mind you, but a few great kisses are always welcome in a romance novel. But aside from that, it was a very sweet book, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I don't like to pick books apart and critique every bit of them, I just care if I was entertained and swept away from reality for a time, and this book did both.

Lilyanna's life has always been dictated by her overbearing mother who constantly criticizes her. Mr. Bainbridge dislikes being among society but she immediately catches his attention.

What happens when rumors of Mr. Bainbridge surface and they must no longer see each other?

I enjoyed the heroine, she feared going against her mother but yet is determined to follow her own heart.

I did feel it slow in some parts but I would read her future books. Clean Regency romance with a beautiful book cover.

Very nice story about finding and fighting for your true love. There are only a couple parts of the story that moved too slow but that might have been only for me. Besides that it's a good book and I'd definitely recommend it.
