Great book!

While I was involved in publishing this book, I couldn't wait to read it. It is fantastic and at the heart of this book is a calling from God to restore men to manhood the way God intended it to be. Pastor Watkins has an incredible ministry to men and women alike but I really believe this book is a key to changing this generation from being known as a "Fatherless Generation" to one that see's father's restored to the role they can and should fulfil. Great book!

This is how healing begins...

The parts of this book that spoke most clearly to me were the things that have been instilled in the men at our church all along; the things that I have strived for but haven't been able to apply on a consistent basis until recently [the last year], particularly in Chapter 8 "Alpha and Omega" regarding FATHERING.
Being fathered is a prerequisite for fathering others. I have been blessed to be on the working end of some church discipline that has truly shaped my life into the makings of an Alpha Male. Many times I just wanted to run away from my problems, my family, and my circumstances that I created by my own immaturity - but that still small voice said, "This is how you get better, this is how healing begins."
I have not been an Alpha Male my whole life, but through His Word, through my strong leaders, and learning obedience through the things I have suffered, God is creating an Alpha Male these days. I feel it, I sense it mostly through revelation.
God has been preparing me by being a big brother to some men, a beginning and testing ground to being a father. God puts men in my life and shows me their potential; men He can use just as you spoke about in the chapter. I now naturally affirm as I was affirmed and loved. Over the past few years in my times away from the church, I try to explain to male counselors at the treatment centers or to my employers and others outside the church how I have submitted to my pastors and abide by their guidance in all things [delegated authorities]. I just get this glazed-over look and they truly, truly do not understand. All they see is that somebody is telling them how to live their lives. The big one is "Nobody can tell me I'm not going to see my kids!!".
The book speaks of decreasing so He can increase. This principle has radically formed a new creation in me. Traits like decisiveness and identity have replaced the lack of assertiveness and fear that marked this little boy for my entire adult life. I have been DEALT WITH by GOD and am healing in public. But, I know I must give it away or I won't keep it.
I am fruit of the Alpha Male blueprint. Thank you for fathering me and thank you for this book.
